New York City recieves masses and masses of tourists. They're both national and internation tourists. In recent years the amount of tourists each year is increasing; in 2010 they receieved about 49 million tourists, 51 million in 2011 and then it rose again to 54 million tourists in 2013.

The Empire State building would be one of New Yorks most popular tourist attraction. It's located in Midtown Manhattan and has been standing since 1931. From 1931-1970 it was the tallest building in the world. This high rise building is most popular for it's amazing views of NYC.

Another popular attraction for tourists visiting New York would be The Statue of Liberty. It was dedicated to NYC on October 28, 1886 from France. It has had a total of three restorements. Because of the 9/11 attacks the Statue of Liberty was closed immediatley and ever since the crown has remained closed. Near the end of 2001 the Island re-opened for visitors. A propular option is to get a ferry to Staten Island and you can pass by and view the Statue of Liberty this way. Other options are getting a ferry to Liberty Island where the Statue is located or getting a helicopter trip around the island.
